Yesterday my brother Scott shared a good moment. He was excited about how he gave a young girl an impromptu swimming lesson while he was doing laps at his local indoor pool. He noticed she was holding her nose and swimming inefficiently. So he asked he if she'd like to learn how to swim like he was swimming. She said, "Yes!" and taught her how. Soon she was diving down to the bottom without holding her nose. He said that she was so excited to learn this new skill and explore what she could do in the water. Scott said it made his day!
And guess where Scott learned to be a swim instructor...at the UM Wellness Center with Ocaquatics in the 1990's! Miren invested in a young man trying to find his way in life and helped him to learn to teach life saving skills.
Ripples of impact. ... 1,000 miles away from Miami ... 30 years later!
