An impact story from the Ocaquatics team

IMPACT STORY · WEEK 5
FROM
Ben A · Gables

One of our Gables swimmers, Francisco, is a great example of why we start water safety early.

Even though he’s an energetic swimmer who loves the pool, he’s had two instances where he accidentally fell in a pool outside of class. Both times were scary, but his lessons saved the day:

As a Tot: He fell in and got a bit of a scare, but he instinctively grabbed the wall.

In Parent & Me Plus: He fell in again, but this time he was able to grab the wall and climb out by himself.

It’s never easy for a parent to see their child fall in a pool or body of water, but Francisco’s mom shared these stories to show that the skills we practice really do work. Those early lessons turn scary moments into safer ones.

Every week we feature one Impact Story. If your Impact Story involves an Ocaquatics Co-Owner, you can nominate them for the 2026 Co-Owner Impact Award.
