Making a Splash on the Road to Recovery

FROM
Alexa R · Eureka

When sisters Juliette and Naty first started at Ocaquatics, they were just six-month-old babies splashing in the water. Now, at three and five years old, swimming has become much more than just a fun activity—it has become a vital part of their healing journey.

This past winter, the girls faced an extreme health crisis. A severe battle with the flu and pneumonia left them intubated with chest tubes, and their little bodies were incredibly frail. It was a terrifying time for the family. Throughout their grueling recovery, as soon as the girls began feeling a bit better, they asked about one thing all day long: when could they go back to swimming?

The emotional moment finally came when their doctor cleared them to return to the pool. Their parents couldn't hold back tears of relief. Because Juliette and Naty are still recovering and remain immunocompromised, swimming is currently the only physical activity they can safely participate in.

Back in the warm, welcoming waters of Ocaquatics, the sisters are finally glowing with happiness. For this resilient family, the pool isn't just a place to learn to swim; it is a safe haven where Juliette and Naty can reclaim their childhood joy, one splash at a time.
